Does not being declared a StandUp guy automatically make one a SitDown Guy?

Stand up Stand up for DaveB
Ye EBMM fans,
Although his pants you may not dig
He drinks his beer from cans.

From this weekend to Tuesday
I'm getting fever now,
At Smelly's cryptic riddle
I'm so wired I've had a cow!

Question: has Smelly bought a Bongo? (fess up man, there's no shame in it!!)

Hi 5 chaps, Louis :D

Thanks man,
I've been a bear with a sore head since the bash, I wanted that so bad, I was peaved they put a limit on the number of tickets you could buy, and when strummer decided it wasn't for him it was a gift, but I could do it, Mrs Smelly has since changed her mind, and........"rejoice, for a great injustice is about to be un-done"

Will post pics on Tuesday - THanks to DaveB, blind Lemon, and my fellow knuckleheads at the bash, this guitar is world class, I can't beleive it's going to be mine!

Smelly congrats, the BFR AL is world class, if I had to get rid of all my guitars but one the BFR AL would be the one staying, cant say enough about the tone, looks and fell of one.

OK now that Smelly has let the cat out of the bag.....

I was always going to be the temporary custodian of the BFR AL - I knew either Spud or Smelly would end up owning it.

He's gonna love it!

Fing that is one super commendation of the AL - considering that you like to swap about a bit.

I have to say that this has gotta be one the finest guitars on the market, and is "our little secret"!!

I see that there is a black one on the for sale sticky going for a bargain - get it someone!!!

2 more sleeps till it's here!!!!!!!!

HE HE - Told you it was worth it!

This is the only BFR AL I've heard seen and touched, I always thought that buying a BFR would be subjective and down to an individuals tastes.

So this was the obvious choice. I bought a bunch of tickets for the raffle, not to win but it was a good way for us UK folks to donate to the CLB, when strummer won I got my name ont the "Should you ever sell list" - and I managed to broker a deal between DaveB and him to get him his bass -(Some weird EBMM - I don't know - odd things!!!!:D)

I worked 52hours overtime last month, that in tandem with me being grumpy as hell since mid-June that I didn't have a BFR AL made this decision easy.

It's a special guitar for lots of reasons, and the whole "I was there" experience is enhanced by getting this, for those who don't know it's signed by poppa on the back of the headstock and also signed by Poppa, Brian & Scott on the back plate. and it's got to be one of the suckiest tops I have seen on any guitar, and it's mine, mine, all mine (Dr Evil Laugh goes here!)

When I bought my DD Luke I thought I'd never spend anything close to that amount again on a guitar, but I'm drawn back to EBMM again and again the top on this AL is SOooooooooooo Sexy it worries me! - I've spent more than I have but I'd do it again in a heartbear to get this guitar, this was beyond the chase - this was almost obsession!

I'll probably thin out some of my collection when I get my BFR because I can see my Axis, Luke & BFR AL (with the blue one as a spare!) - as being all the tools I'd ever need. I did post a thread named got the tools but - where I called into play my playing ability over spending cash on guitars, bottom line - it's a short life kids, gotta make the most of it, do what makes you and those around you happy, this would be my happy time....

Thanks to all those who made it happen - DaveB, Strummer, Beth Blind Lemon, and Mike @ GAK for putting the idea in my head, I'm afraid I can't make it to the Steve Morse clinic which I'm gutted about but it's too far and work is mental right now, and I need to focus my attention there and at home (if only to make up for spending so much cash on a guitar!!!)

For those who didn't get to the
UK bash.....

And yes yes yes - quote of the year, SPUD YOU CAN LICK MY BALLS ANYTIME! - and I never thouht I'd say that to another man!!!!!!!

Cheers

Mike
