I do think seriously that Dean is good enough to have a sig model. It would be so cool to have one of our buddies make it to a sig model, and a lot of people who dont know Dean would hear about him this way. But he is one hell of a shredder!

He is amazing Eric, no doubt! But it sort of goes the other way ... it takes a *lot* of guitar sales to cover the cost of new models (R&D, production, marketing, support, etc.) - unfortunately you have to be a household name to sell guitars.

MM has had some incredible artists that played production models with little customizations, though, rather than full blown sig models (Vinnie Moore, Johnny Hiland, etc.). Many other brands release the tweaked models as signature models, MM doesn't do that.

Well for me the good example is Tony Levin that is with EBMM for decades and would deserve a signature but he said that production model are already that good that he doesn't need anything more

(But seriously - this guy is friggin phenomenal ......and SOOO passionate about EBMM's and his music)

you cracked me up Dizzy :) long time no see

I recently was reading an article on here about Vinnie Moore, and I could not believe some of the comments about certain guitars are junk. I have been playing since 1977, and I believe that you can make any guitar a gem, if you want to take the time and spend the money. You can take some old Kay or Ibanez or Dean or Epiphone and make it your own. All necks, bodies and hardware can be exchanged. The only thing you can't change is the type of wood the guitar body is made out of. I'm just saying.
