I like the single TRS cable because it means one less cable than can fail on you at a gig... one less cable to troubleshoot, etc. Nothing wrong with two mono TS cables if that's your preference.
The 6190 Splitter Box is so small that you can easily find room for it on your pedalboard. I keep it right next to a DI box, so I jump the piezo signal from the 6190 right into the DI with a tiny 1/4" patch cable, then to normal XLR microphone cable from the DI to the PA.
Yeah, the visible difference between TS (mono) and TRS (stereo) cables is the extra ring on the TRS plug.. two of 'em versus one on the TS.
Internally, there is an extra conductor wire in the TRS (two conductors + shield) whereas the TS has just a single conductor and a shield.
