I like the single TRS cable because it means one less cable than can fail on you at a gig... one less cable to troubleshoot, etc. Nothing wrong with two mono TS cables if that's your preference.

The 6190 Splitter Box is so small that you can easily find room for it on your pedalboard. I keep it right next to a DI box, so I jump the piezo signal from the 6190 right into the DI with a tiny 1/4" patch cable, then to normal XLR microphone cable from the DI to the PA.

Yeah, the visible difference between TS (mono) and TRS (stereo) cables is the extra ring on the TRS plug.. two of 'em versus one on the TS.

Internally, there is an extra conductor wire in the TRS (two conductors + shield) whereas the TS has just a single conductor and a shield.

I've just scored an ASS, which is my 1st with a piezo.

Weight-wise, there is a slight difference to my 2 A-sports, but it's really noot that noticeable when you're playing it (I think it's actually more to do with the different woods used, IIRC)

As far as the sound goes, it's really good through a PA. I got the guitar for use in a show that's currently running and I've had a few people come up to me afterwards and ask where the acoustic guitar is!!

As previously mentioned, run it through a PA with a wide frequency band, add a touch of reverb (and possibly a really tiny amount of chorus) and it sounds excellent.

Obviously, it will never sound like a high end acoustic recorded with a large diaphragm condensor mic, but for live use, it really is an excellent compromise (less of the inherent feedback problems).

It's interesting to see that Pete Townsend has been using a piezo loaded guitar for a while to give the pseudo-acoustic ring to some of the live tracks. Check out the Live 8 set to see.

As for the cables, you can use a TRS to TRS, or even an insert cable, which runs TRS out and splits at the last metre or so. At the moment, I'm using two cables loomed together, as I needed a quick fix, but I'll probably look towards a splitter box.

Definitely go for it though, it's worth the investment.
