Title says it all. Played an Albert Lee HH for the first time a few weeks back and I've been saving up my overtime $$ to order a new one. Really dig the all rosewood neck, pickups, and mahogany body (I haven't had anything but basswood, alder, or poplar bodied guitars for several years).

Here lately though, I've really been thinking about going with the Reflex instead. The tonal options would be fantastic, plus I like 12" radius boards a lot better than 10" ones. I'll admit that the main thing I'm tripping over is the aesthetic stuff: I really like the quirkiness of the AL body, available colors, & look of the all rosewood neck.

I plan on placing the order in June, so I've got a while to ponder it some more. What would you do?

I don't think either one would be a bad choice!!!! Good luck.....Try to play them both....then decide.....I feel the 12' radius is not as good for me....otherwise I would prob..own a Reflex now....!! I do love my all rosewood neck Tobacco Burst BFR Axis Super Sport too...

I have both and must say the AL HH is my favourite. The Reflex is great if you play a very wide variety of styles. But the rosewood neck on the AL HH is such a pleasure to play! And indeed it looks great!

For me personally, I do not have one guitar that I would keep over my reflex, it is so comfortable and easy to play, resonant, it has 10 highly usable varied tones, I always think of it as my swiss army knife guitar it covers so much ground tonally.

Having said that, I love my AL HH and would be gutted if I ever had to part with it, but if I had to choose between the two I would have to go reflex.

I'm just glad the AL MM90 isn't your favorite!

Otherwise I wouldn't have one... :)

Play them both if you have the chance. I think they both sound great. The Reflex is obviously more versatile in terms of tones from pickup configurations. I favor the Albert Lee but a lot of that has to do with the shape of the neck and how it feels.

They're both such great guitars, it's hard to pick just one. The RW neck is especially nice. But the feel of the Reflex is amazing, it's very alive.

If I were getting one new, I'd probably look to order a Reflex with the GC installed ;)

I definitely appreciate all the feedback, guys! As of right now, I'm still gonna go with the HH AL.

I really wish vintage white was still a color option, but Lake Tahoe Blue looks pretty spiffy too.
