I was just talking to Tommy about that ... we've got a new baby so my schedule is up in the air, but I've got to catch them when they're here.

Had a great day- I had time to head up to the venue and hang with Tommy for the day (long overdue to just hang out ... though he put me to work!). Have to say it's a great crew they've got there. Had a blast. Got to hang with Steve for a bit as well. Duty called, so unfortunately had to split home before the show. Hopefully you guys got to check it out - it sounded fantastic in rehearsal.

Great show, Steve put in his usual fantastic virtuoso performance. How did you manage to get back stage Beej, I tried to hang about the tour bus to meet Steve afterwards but the security chased me away.

A great show indeed. Steve is in fine form. I got lucky and met Roger and Ian (Paice), also Don at the hotel bar a few hours after the show when there were only a few people around. Totally nice guys - my wife jokingly told Roger it was a great show and that she always loved 'the Beatles' - he had a laugh over it. Cool. Would have loved to meet Steve. The Y2D appears to have slightly more bite than the standard - but certanly not a difference in quality of tone. It's subjective isn't it? Anyhow - I loved hearing the orchestra with them - something different. Roger told us they don't rehearse with them, and they're performance of 'Woman from Tokyo' was the first time in about 10 years - also, never rehearsed. They still got it, and Steve is such a powerful force on stage. 10/10.

Deep Purple was great at the Greek Theater last night. They have always been one of my favorite bands. They did some cool gems too: Hard Lovin Man, No One Came, Maybe I'm a Leo. Deep Purple was tight (as always) and the orchestra was a nice complement to the band. Steve had a great solo (as did Don and Roger as well). I am glad we went.
