Last night I went to the DP show in Augsburg and had the opportunity to meet Tommy. He was very nice and kind and even managed to give my mate and me a backstage tour before the show. He showed us Steve´s gear and we had some nice guitar talk.

The show itself was one of the best I saw so far (it was my 14th Purple show, the 12th with Steve). The band was really on fire. They started with Fireball – Into the Fire – Hard Lovin Man in a row. That was so nasty. They played the audience against the wall :) The rest can be seen here. A real good mixture of older stuff. Steve played very loud and hard. I stood right in front of his cabinets but although it was loud the sound was a pleasure and we could even hear Don Airey (which is not often the case when you stand in front of the guitars).

After the show we were able to get into the Meet & Greet and got autographs and pictures and had some talk to the band (except IG). Then towards the end Tommy came again to chat with us. Everybody here always says how nice Tommy is. Now I can confirm this. Thanks again, Tommy. You made a knucklehead lucky!
(edit: reduced the amount of pics, now the most important)

I met Tommy at a Steve Morse clinic in London Ontario last winter. He was a great guy...as nice of a guy as Steve was.

just got home from the DP show in stuttgart this evening.
once again, a big thanks to tommy!!! you are then man!!!
had a nice talk before the show about gear and music and touring and so on - and had a nice meet&greet after the show.

guess what, i took that chance to tell steve morse, that he should talk to BP, to make the blackie become a regular color-option on the Y2D line.
what else can i say?!?! it was a perfect evening!
thanks again tommy for make all this happen - till next time.

That's awesome Joe! I must admit, Blackie looks good on you. :) I hope it does become an option. The Y2D looks killer in black.

hey joe, i'm glad it worked out for you. It is so cool to see all those wonderful machines steve has. Tommy told me the new purple record will be awesome and they probably will come again next year. So i hope to meet tommy and the purples again someday...

Great shots mate. What was the bottom engl head? Invader, savage?

invader as i remember correctly, but this amp is only for the wet signal, so only the power-section is used on this one.

tommy told us, that he is super happy with the engl amps, because they are so reliable and they never had problems with it.
he only put in a new set of tubes (for the first time now!) a few days ago - that´s it.
how long does steve play those amps now? four? five? or six years? or even more? and the amp just got its first tube change - that´s great i mean.
