Ordered a 6 string in harvest orange and was prepared for a six month wait but they just contacted me and said it wouldn’t ship till Jan 2022…

Is there that much demand or is my music store blowing smoke where it doesn’t belong?

Anyone else experiencing this type of delay (and congrats to music man if they are I guess)

Are you in the U.S. or international? Right now there are massive delays worldwide and in the U.S. due to continuing effects of the Covid Pandemic. Wood can't get to where it needs to be, neither can materials. There is also an unprecedented demand for instruments rolled into this, which has completely outstripped production capabilities.

Right now, Gibson Guitars has already sold their entire 2021 slated production numbers, and I would wager other makers are not far behind.

In Canada and ordered from probably the largest dealer up here Long and McQuade.

Didn’t know there was a run on basswood…

I know it’s more likely the ebony but wow that’s a healthy backlog!

The U.S. lumber industry also kinda screwed up, though I don't know how much of it applies to lumber like basswood. They predicted a huge decline in demand, so they reduced sawmill production by a lot.

Well the demand did NOT go down, it went up, so now everything is a mess. I have friends who wanted to get a new deck but the wood prices doubled the estimate.

Also EBMM may get their lightweight tuners from overseas. I know that their guitar tuners are Schaller, so that delays things.

There are just little delays on everything, which adds up to a big delay.

Still waiting for my bad boy - hoping they did another run of bongos over winter …
