A very good friend of mine is a top UK pro bass player and is currently doing a lot of work in Germany for a former 1970s star who's made a huge comeback as a result of winning a celebrity reality TV show. He's doing a lot of TV and will be touring later in the year. He uses an SR5 and has done for years.

He's had a try of my Bongo and loves it however he's now been offered an endorsement by a well known German bass manufacturer for the tour and the TV shows, which he's going to have to take, but he'd rather have a Bongo. Catch 22, he can't buy a Bongo til he's done the tour. Isn't that depressing?

That's cool to hear. I guess that might be depressing but I'd love to be in his position. If the well known german bass manufacturer is who I think it is, he is in good hands. Different strokes for different folks, but those are great basses. I have been nothing but extremely happy with mine. The same can be said for my SR5, excellent bass for sure. :)

Actually you're absolutely right. Who wouldn't want to be in his position. Maybe he'll still get his Bongo eventually.
