Though if you are playing a silo, you can quick change the pick guard with other pre populated guards of alternate configs... This would not be cheating!

Yeah, it could be... BUT there is a big difference with the GC as it can be switched with only access to a computer and can have endless tone banks saved so you would not have to modify your guitar to achieve a sound. Could I modify the Silo Spec? Yes. The only pickup style that I am really missing, that I may also want, is the MM90. In order to achieve that with my 3 choices I would end up losing one of my chosen pickup configs (HH, Split HH, HSS) and now I'm missing that sound. This is why the GC isn't in this scenario because you don't have to make those choices with that guitar. I think the GC allows 5/10 preloaded "pickup banks" at a time... that kind of like having 5/10 different guitars. If I could choose 5 guitars I wouldn't have to leave 2 at home. 10 and I get to buy 4 more... I'd be set!

Right! If I was on a Desert Island I'd have to live with the settings I have in my GC reflex because I'm certain that the internet coverage there would suck! I've pretty much got it nailed down to the 6-9 settings that I always use anyway. About the same number that I use in my 25th.

Sorry to be a pain, but the GC is a killer guitar in it's own right and often overlooked, even here on this forum. I'll be gigging with her tonight in fact.

I would buy a GC, but I want it in a color other than black. I would own a reflex/GC if I could get it with a figured maple top with a nice Fran's color. I think more of us would have adopted it if it looked more like the 25th anniversary guitar. I get why it's not that way... So I'll pick another model and move on. Electronics wise, I'm sure you get why it's "cheating" even 6-7 different configs are more than 3 non GC guitars.
