Just bought BFR and just noticed that the nut is damaged. You can see in the pics. Can it be fixed? I'm in Australia. Have only had it for a few days......Have to take it back to shop tommorrow or next day.

Not the end of the world but I would also have a knot in the gut, I never had to deal with an issue like this but since it is so minor hopefully you can hold onto the guitar as it looks like it is just chipped and should still play, while a new nut is sent.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but how did you not see it before you bought it?

Hope everything works out though and you get it straightened out.

Looks like it may cause some intonation problems, but it is a bit hard to see. If the point where the string leaves the nut hasn't actually moved, it isn't going to cause any problems other than looking ugly!

surely the dealer will replace this while you wait as they should have noticed that before they sold it. I dont think it is a big deal, an easy one to fix

I had a good look at the nut outside and it is painted in to the neck so looks to me as it would need to be refinished as well as a new nut fitted bought it new didn't even notice it in the shop checked the rest of the guitar but didn't notice it :( will ring customer service and see what they say

I really don't know. Installing a nut isn't a huge deal if a shop is qualified to do it. I've seen them whole necks to shops, with the proviso that the old one be sent back once installed.

dream- it should not need to be refinished. Let the CS guys take care of you and all will be well.
