Hey guys !

So I just tried my new JP BFR with my band on monday. It just sounded huge ! I love it !
However, I had a "hum" issue when using my piezo (magnetics => pedalboard + amp / piezo => PA system). I figured it was a ground issue, so one of my bandmates suggested I get a DI Box to put between the piezo out and the PA.

Does anyone have done that already ? If so, what DI Box would you recommend ?

Cheers,
Sylvain.

I would suggest the Fishman Aura DI Pedal. The Piezo system sounds huge through this pedal!

First thing I would recommend is almost anything made by Radial. Some of the best DIs ever made and they have quite a few designed specifically for piezo instruments on stage. And that's before we get to their ToneBone series, which includes this baby...

Radial PZ-Select - Peizo & Magnetic pickup selector / Direct Box - introduction

I heard and read many great things about Radial products. But I would like to find something simpler (and smaller). I can change PZ and magnetics on the JP and I already have a pretty big peadalboard. Plus, I know my use of the piezo will be very "sporadic". So I guess I'm just looking for a "hum killer" in form of a small box I could put between my piezo out and the PA when I need it. I don't know it exists.

If I can't find that, I will go for a Radial for sure !

I use for many years a good old aphex acoustic xciter pedal for my piezo, it helps alot to get a bigger sound!

Hello, I just tried my JPX with a home made splitter box and an Eb Tech hum eliminator. This is the setup; JPX -> splitter box Output A to Magnetic amp (Mesa) and Output B to hum eliminator in. Hum eliminator Out to acoustic amp. I works great and kills the hum on the mesa amp.
