Heh...apparently, I uploaded these sound files back in, oh...November and completely forgot I had this webspace. Whoops.

Honestly, they aren't anything special, but they are sound clips of a fretless Bongo. I had the signal a bit too hot, and I'm not sure what amp I'm running through, either.

How's that for a set up?

I think clip one is both SC and H pickups with piezo.

Clip two was obviously my attempt at boom-boom-boom. Careful with those speakers, guys....

Too much clipping. Oh, well. I need to record some new stuff, anyway.

Clip three is bridge pickup and I think piezo.

And, this nuttiness is all of them together...As you can tell, not much time was put into this. So, be nice.

1 is hard left, and 3 is hard right, I think. with 2 pretty much centered. Headphones are fun. :p

And, simply because I want to post it again, here's a crappy pic of Moby.

If the sky is ever clear, and happy, I'll take some good outdoor shots, but this is the best I've got right now.

Excellent! :D Your sound clips are always a great fun to listen to. Too bad the computers here at school don't have soundcards. :( I must give these a good listen once I get home! :)

Hey Monkeee, sounds good! That B string is really low. What effects, if any, did you use? Rock on.

No effects. If anything, there was a little bit of soft knee compression added.

sounds great! great b-string sound for a fretless, and nice and gutsy.
how does piezo sound by itself?

I don't have any recordings of the piezos soloed on the fretless, but here's a couple of recordings of my fretted Bongo with the piezos by themselves.

with flat EQ:

And, with some on board tweaking:

I'm pretty sure the strings are also TI Superalloys, but they might be D'Addario Slowounds.

mmm - always good to see a pic of Moby
but I kinda miss the mint thingy :(

cool clips btw

Heh, the mint pickguard has gone to live with a Candy Apple Red Bongo. I think it looks better on that bass than it did on Moby.

But, here's a pic so you can remember the way things used to be:

Hey, thanks for posting the piezo mp3s.

Nice sound. Very round, almost p-bass like, but with that acoustic piezo edge.
Must sound killer with a little bit of magnetic mixed in.
