I just picked up a 2015 Majesty 7 this afternoon (super excited!), and I’ve been playing it for hours. Everything was working great, but I took a break, put it down, and then when I picked it back up, I think I might have broken the Mag Volume knob.

I pulled up on the Mag Volume knob by accident, and now it won’t click back down. I know that some Majesty models have a push/pull function (I believe for a boost?), but no matter how much I press, it won’t return to the down position. The I think the DB change still works, so it's stuck "up" in the +20db. I can hold the knob down and tell the difference.

I’m hoping I didn’t break something internally. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a trick to resetting it, or do I need to open it up and check inside?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

(Side note: Loving this guitar so far—just hoping I didn’t mess it up on day one! 😅)

Hmmm... Have you tried removing the knob, and seeing if the pot still moves up and down without the knob? The knobs have a rubber thing around them, and under that is a set screw that allows you to take the knob off.

I have not removed the knob, but the pot does still move up and down when I push on it. It just doesn't stay down. When I hold it down, I believe the preamp is off.

If the knob is set too low on the pot shaft, it won't quite depress all the way to trigger the switch. Take the knob off (you'll need a 2mm allen wrench), if it works with the knob off then you know that was your issue - just put the knob back on and set it to the right height before you tighten the screw. If that doesn't solve it, you may have a faulty switch. Contact Music Man customer service for advice, and a replacement part. And maybe the person you bought from some money back.

Got it - thanks. I took it off and I think I broke the switch, so will contact customer services. Appreciate the help!
