Bongo review? Here ya go.

Played it yesterday morning for 2 songs out of a 5 song gig. First 3 were with my belvoed SR5. I must say, I love the tone of the Bongo just as much as the SR5. It's massive bottom end makes slow songs move and upbeat songs kick. I'm not quite as comfortable on it as I am the SR5 but hey, i've only had it for a few days.

I took it to go record this morning. First song, I pulled out the SR5. Got that one done. Then I figured, "Hey. I'll give the Bongo one song." I get done with the first scratch recording. We're listening back to it and the first note I hit, the two guys there looked at me in complete shock. So, the Bongo ended up getting 2 songs out of the 3 we recorded this morning. Wow. Sounded absolutely AMAZING!!! I'll have the finished product with probably 6 songs next month. I'll be sure to let everyone know how they come out and post it where you guys can have a listen.

The Bongo is here to stay.

Andrew ~ do you remember how you EQ'd the Bongo, and did you run straight to the board, or did you run anything between for color? Also, do you pick or pluck?

I'm going to be recording in the next month or so myself, and the CR Bongo is going to get the lion's share of the work, based on the variety of tones I can get from it.

Shamus, I ran into my GK 1001RB-II into the board. Had my Bongo set half way favoring the bridge pup, slightly cut low mids, slightly boosted high mids, slightly cut treble, slightly boosted bass.

How did the sound turn out in the mix...any weak spots?
