I traded away one of my custom built basses because my Bongos get all of my playing time, and the other bass's neck simply felt too wide at this point.
So, I got quite a bit of $$$$, and I also scored this minty SR4.
I got it home yesterday (it showed up at work), dropped on a set of Group III flats and lowered the pickup a little. It sounds and plays great. I'll see if it needs a truss rod tweak after it settles, but so far, so good. Oh, and the tort guard on the way will make it a little more me, too.
I never really had a SR speak to me before like the Bongos speak to me, but then I've never really played an SR with flats before, either....This bass has a great neck and it feels a lot lighter than the ones I've played in the past. So, while I got this bass with the intention of flipping it, I can see it making a case for permanent resident. Stay tuned....
