I feel great about my new SR 5. Put some TI jazz flats on it and wow. Thanks to Bovine and others for pointing out the TI flats.

so i should put ti jazz flats on my sterling

I am quite sure I would put them on any bass. They just got it if ya know what I mean.

I have heard a lot about tension on these strings being lower. I only had to add a smidge of relief to the neck on my SR5 walla same setup I had with the EB strings. Set the intonation and oh man. This is what a MM should sound like IMHO.

Also I can't really feel a difference in the B string at all. Can't say enuff about the TI strings or the MM bass.

What's the dilly-o on these TI Flats strings? What makes them better than other flats? Are they brighter ? Give me the 4-1-1 peeps!

TI Flats are quite bright (for flats) when new, but it's the low tension, tone (after a week or so of use) and feel that appeals to most converts. I can't stomach Rotos, and my favorite flatwound strings are D'Addario Chromes, but the TI flats are my second preference overall, but are my string of choice on my fretless Stingray, reissue Precision, Jazz 'hobag and fretless scroll bass. For "rock" I prefer the Chromes.
