Hi everyone, I do have a Steve Morse and I've ordered now a Luke , I almost play pop-rock ,I find that the Morse one has a huge bright sound ,sometimes this high-end are out of control....I've ordred the luke but I've played it only once,I've decided to buy it because I find it a complete guitar , like a strato, to me after only a first impression the closest guitar to the strato.
Please let me know your opinions.

Hey Fule,

Similariites are a rosewood fretboard.

Differences are
wood (poplar v. alder)
string gauge (luke's set up for 9's)
neck (morse is chunkier)
neck radius (i think 10 v 12, not sure though)
bridge (fixed on most morses trem on lukes)
pickups (Dimarzios v. emg's)
p/u switching (5 v. 11)
colors
weight (luke's lighter)
body carve (luke's more comfortable for me)

Have you tried lowering the pickups a tad on your morse? It may help with some of the brightness. Also lowering treble on your amp. The tone knob on the guitar itself has a large sweep of tone shaping colors that I find useful to fiddle with.

Well I meant differences in the sound...what genre do you think these ones are done for?
