Ok, as I was playing my Sterling H earlier, I noticed something about the nut. Most EBMM's I've seen nowadays have that nice, fancy grooved nut. And it's perfectly lined up with the matching headstock paint. That's how it is on my Sterling HS:
Now, my Sterling H looks different. The nut looks plain, like you'd see on any old Fender and whatnot. It doesn't line up with the matching headstock paint, and it even looks a bit crooked to tell the truth. But on closer inspection, it's actually the matching headstock paint line that's crooked I believe:
My first thought was the nut was replaced, but I don't see any evidence of that. In any event, I'm just wondering if the nut on my Sterling HS is a newer development and if these plainer nuts were used in the past. I will admit that I'm a bit disappointed that my paintjob seems to be a bit crooked, but I still love my EBMM gear! I'd love to get a newer nut on my Sterling H if at all possible. Does EBMM sell them? Or fix necks for a fee that I would gladly pay?
And I'm wondering if anyone can be the judge as to if I'm over-reacting as far as the looks on my Sterling H go. I still think my Sterling H sounds great (I decided to keep it again, lol), but I've never heard of an EBMM case where there were minor imperfections such as this. Or it could just be me making them out to be minor imperfections in what I want to be the perfect bass. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
