Should it be seemingly impossible to find a Steve Morse model in all of New England? I've looked everywhere, and it just seems to increase my urge to try one. :D

Actually most EBMMs can sometimes be hard to come bye!
I've been to many dealers and have yet to see an Albert Lee or Luke!
You may have to order one.

Yeah, I feel your pain. Pete's the only person around in New England with any of this stuff! I've looked everywhere for years for certain guitars (Ibanez Petruccis, certain JEMs, ANY Ernie Ball besides a SUB or Petrucci with no options) and I always just seem out of luck! Again, for a Morse, Pete's your best bet. Good luck!

I didn't know you could order what you wanted. So when the day came around that there was a Morse on the wall at a local guitar store I freaked. Then that weekend they put it on sale. If you think you want one then you are right. Try a NY city zip code in the ebmm dealer locater.

Try looking at the EB dealer locater page. Most dealer inventories are accurate. Start with your zip then spin out further and further. I had the same dilema last year in central Ohio when looking for Morse model. I finally found one in Youngstown about 3 hours away.

I think that's pretty much a telling statement on the state of music stores these days. Before I moved to Cleveland I lived in a relatively small town and could always find whatever I wanted there. Even EBMM's. I stopped playing for about 5 years when I moved here and when I started again and thus started visiting music stores I thought this town was pathetic. Going home again showed me that it wasn't Cleveland. Stores there have gotten pathetic as well.

Economy? What gives?

Idunno what's up with other stores, but right now I have 18 Music Man guitars & basses in stock, along with an additional 8 S.U.B. guitars and basses.

If you do the math, thats a LOT of money for a small, non-corporate business to have just sitting around tied up on a shelf, or in a back room somewhere.

I have 1 Luke here, the Morse sold last month, and I have yet to stock an Albert Lee. Silhouettes, Axis, JPs, and StingRays make up most of the inventory here.

Pete - any idea why you are having trouble moving them? I know a lot of first time buyers only go with Fender or Gibson because they know the name, or Ibanez because they see their hero playing one.

Still, the two stores that I frequent are both impressed by EBMMs quality and value - when I bought my Silo the e'ees were gathered around it and the comments were "why don't we carry more of them" and "because the staff buys them up as soon as they come in" etc.

I sell about 1 guitar every week or week and a half, which is great for my being there only part-time, so they certainly do move out. Basses haven't been as kind to me in jumping off the shelves, but I hope to improve that! I like having a bunch of different instruments in stock, and would have even more if I could :D
