If those bug you, then cliplocks aren't the way to go. I usually play standing up or in front of my TV, so it's doesn't bother me. I never liked the "clingy" sound strap locks make

It doesn't bug me on my Ibanez, since I can put the guitar in the case with the strap still attached, so I never remove it. But on my Les Paul, I chose Dunlop straplocks instead because the strap has to come off to put the guitar in the form fitting case. I actually prefer the Dimarzio cliplocks, but can't use 'em on the Les Paul, 'cause when it ain't hangin' from my shoulder, it's in the case.

Does anyone know how to shorten the Dunlop straps properly? Do you physically have to cut off some of the strap before re-stitching?

I got a local shoemaker to restitch the strap a bit higher up, but it's still the same length.

Do you mean dimarzio strap? You would have to cut off quite a bit. Think of it like this, even at it's shortest setting, it's too long, so cut off a foot and it will be a foot shorter at the shortest setting. You could still lengthen the strap from there. Make sense?
