There happens to be a Bongo 5HH in Ice Blue/Rosewood board available @ BassCentral...

Not necessarily. Photos sometimes remain on their web-site even after the exact bass has been sold due to the fact that an identical one can be ordered or may already be on the way.

Always speak to someone there to find out what's actually in stock, what's on the way, or to place a special order.

Always remember that a bass in a natural finish would have a unique wood grain pattern and could be quite different from another one pictured on-line.

It was just a comment... and I wasn't trying to be a smart-ass, life really IS too short to be living it with regrets. I've actually been thinking about this alot since my kids' school bus got t-boned by a pickup in the fog about a month ago and my 11 year old daughter received a broken neck out of the deal. Something like this gets a person (parent above musician or anything else) thinking pretty deep thoughts... Anyway, I've actually bought 2 bongos from bass central - they're really great to deal with, and from my experience dealing with them, if it's on their website - they most likely have it, and I do call them when I order... As for the natural finished instruments (such as my 20th SR5 & my Al***ic), you are correct sir - no 2 are the same, which makes them twice as cool in my book... Anyway, I didn't mean to offend you in any way, & if I did, I apologize... I'm nothing like the 7 string rant-n-rave douche-bag that feels the need to... never mind, no sense in bringing that up again... Eric

I was not offended at all; I was thrilled to receive a response to my dismay about not owning an Ice Blue EBMM. That was very thoughtful of you! :D

I'm sorry that my response to your response made you think that I was somehow offended.

I was merely conveying to anyone interested in a bass from Bass Central that it's best to speak to someone and not automatically assume that what's on-line is exactly what's currently in stock. One exactly like it may already be on the way. If not, they are great with special orders; I know this from first hand experience.

Sorry to hear about the bus accident; I pray that your daughter will be okay.

Mrs.sitonmybass also sends you her best.

I really should have never sold my first SR4 in metalflake brown/rosewood with mhs - it was the shiznit.

I should have bought the buttercream/maple SR4 when I saw it in the local shop - same color as my P/J.

"Regret for Ice Blue"...for not having it, it would be...

Hi everyone. When I decided I was going for a Stingray, originally I wanted a transparent finish, but one day browsing on Amazon I came upon the ice blue HS Stingray, which always intrigued me. So one day I decided to go for it, honestly thinking days after the purchase if I had made a mistake. Fortunately when the bass arrived I was very happy to see that my "mistake" never existed, when the case opened and I saw this.

This color is truly amazing, and I couldn´t be happier with my purchase. I love this instrument more and more each day since it arrived 8 months ago.

The interesting bit here is that when I was deciding to buy it, what convinced me was the "order soon-only two left" sign (too gullible maybe), and since october 2009, the updated sign "only one left" that appeared when I ordered mine has remained there. So, maybe it happens that only one remains and the color is not really appreciated. If somebody can take advantage of this opportunity go for it, you really will not regret it, a very nice combination, looks greater in person than in the pictures.

Congratulations!

I think Ice Blue is my favorite of all the discontinued colors.

Thanks for posting; I'm this thread's originator.

I'm a sucker for the orange & gold finishes, but green & blue are not far behind. Too many great finishes to name for me.

As for discontinued finishes, i really like blueburst, but if we count also limited editions, trans black would be my best choice :)

And I own a trans teal SR5 that I think looks great!

I think all of my basses are discontinued/ limited colors.

I love Mt DDII, and RedRise, and Buttercreme, and Sequoia Gold, and Copperhead Bronze.

I would love to have big al basses in Red Rise and Copperhead Especially.

After Playing with the Al Since i received it, it feels like the bass was built special for me. It hangs in just the right spot, is tonaly amazingly adjustable, and the neck feels perfect. One day maybe i'll have another one or two. Maybe with 3 humbuckers.. That would be insane.

Erin

I would also love to have something in Trans. White

What - no love for Cabernet Pearl? I recently picked up a Bongo 5 HH in that color and it is sweet...
