Part of the reason I've become interested in EBMM basses is the interaction of Sterling Ball and other employees on this forum, so this question would be for you guys. Are colors that have been dropped ever brought back into the line? I've been reading as many old threads as possible trying to gain knowledge of all things EBMM, but haven't seen this question yet so forgive me if it has been asked before. I saw a Copperhead Bronze Stingray in the finish guide thread and would really love to have a Bongo in this finish. Thanks for any information in advance and hopefully I won't ask too many stupid questions as I get more involved with the forum.

Im going to say no, they arent ever brought back. Just because thats the general answer that I've seen here in the past.

James. From what Ive read, any EBMM finish that was discontinued, wasnt selling. The copperhead bronze was a small run, and IIRC someone said that nobody really flipped for the color, and GC sold all the basses made in that finish.

So, as much as it sucks, if a color has come and gone, your best bet is that its gone for good. Tough words to say, well type for a sparkle lover like myself.

All colours, even discontinued ones, have their fans. For example, I believe I'm the only person who doesn't pee their pants if an Inca Silver or Walnut pre-EB pops up on ebay, but personally neither colour does anything for me. Same goes for sparkle (any). Then again, I'm also in the minority because I quite like green.

I guarantee that if sparkle finishes were still being produced, not as many people would be loving to get their hands on one. I think that's the main reason I want a sparkle SR5. Just because it's kinda rare. :)

The two sparkles I really like are blue dawn and burnt apple. But, if they don't sell, we can't fault EB for dropping them. They certainly do offer a boatload of nice colors, anyway.

If the finish sells while it is being produced, the finish stays in the line-up.

If the finish doesn't sell, then it is traded away to a team to be named never.

I've had this conversation with BP. Many of you have read his thoughts here, which I believe I have boiled down to the basics above.

I will add this: first, I have my own Finishes No Longer Appearing In This Film, so I feel your pain.

Second..no, no, there is no second.
