Got to admit, it does look very smooth......like i'd imagine the next generation of SR's to look.

Although i really loved the original colour too!

Nice, but why would you do that to graphite pearl with black guard and maple neck?

Thats probably my favourite look for a ray. :(

You should have done it to a natural or one of the less good finishes.

I don't know if its the layers of paint I used/gloss... but to me, it sounds a bit warmer than before.

Don't get me wrong, it still has that signature stingray sound.... but its just a little wamer.. reminds me of a jazz.. SORT OF. It may be just a psychological thing, but there is definately a difference.

I'll post some more pics later.. of it being played.

Nice looking bass.

What type of paint did you use and where did you buy it?

Cheers,
David

Oh for the paint I used professional automotive grade paint.

More specifically, I used Duplicolor .... you can buy it at any PartSource or Canadian Tire. (For those GTA-ers, I work at the Canadian Tire on Dixie and Dundas, so it was convenient for me, haha)

But it really did work well... the only regret I have about it, is there's a little orange peel going on, so I didn't wet sand it quite enough on the topcoat of paint. Oh well, it's different from other SR's, and who doesn't like being original? :)

Thanks for all the kind responses.
