Question Do I have ceramic or alnico pickups?

Just curious, my Stingray 5HH was born 4/4/08, which pickups does it have? I read someone's comment that said they thought the ceramics had more upper mids... any more feedback on the differences?

You know that should actually be Alnico. We switched in March of 2008.

I have an SR5 with ceramic and a new one with Alnico. They are different colors but otherwise the same bass. The ceramic equipped one is more aggressive with a more mid present growl. It sounds very bright and snappy in parallel mode and very deep with muted highs in series mode.

The Alnico equipped bass has a fatter tone with less of a dramatic difference between series and parallel modes. It sounds a lot more like an SR4 but has its own character.

I love them both and would have a real hard time choosing between them.
