that could be the best sounding fretless bass ever built, with those electronics, pickup positions, tone block..

You'll have to let us know.

Beauty! And with your other 25th, will make quite a pair. I just bought a 25th quilt top, HH fretted. I can feel your pains of anticipation, as I mine has or will be just shipped. It will be well worth the wait! Congrats

Manfloozy,

That is one awesome bass. Congratulations man! I would love to get my hands on a fretless 5er identical to that. Hope she brings you many years of enjoyment and creativity.

Cheers

The MEGA Reply Post... Part 1

that is a rare bird!
And a beautiful one at that... you all really outdid yourselves on this one... seriously. Flawless craftmanship... PERFECT... I am very grateful. Thank you.

OK, let's just expand that old rule a little: No sound samples, no bass! :D

(Pics are nice tough, congratulations!)
I will try to post something this week for you all. You do need to hear this! :)

wait to you see that top in person, even our pictures can't show its beauty!!
True statement.... but my pictures sure as heck aren't going to hold a candle to the TPB "Lust" Pics.

You are very sick individual.
Thank you very much... :D

Nice Bass....but it needs frets!!! or maybe just 4 strings....I can compromise!:D
Nah... I'm good. :) I let go of an amazing 4-string fretless... once I commit to something (i.e. 5 bangers), I go all the way.

Just wow. That looks like possibly the best thing ever.
^ = True (save a few non-instrument exceptions.... my daughter is really adoreable)

Hey guys,
After selling my non-EBMM fretless 5, seeing this makes me want an EBMM fretless 5 that much more. I definetly should not have looked at this thread!
Dooo IT! EBMM Basses - Frets = Bliss.

It's the best I've ever heard... "."

Congrats... you will LOVE it!

She's a beauty!!
You will have to come over and see her! I'll give you a shout this week sometime.

Color me curious....

Hope she brings you many years of enjoyment and creativity.
Thanks brother. Much appreciated. I really missed having a fretless... and this just feels sooooo right.

Would it comes with piezo?
Piezo bridges were NOT an option on the 25th.... so no. The Reflex may have this option but we do not know yet. Honestly... I don't think this baby needs one.

it's perfect just like it is! ;)
This!

And thanks to everyone else for their kind words. My camera is AWOL so NBD thread to come with a full (glowing) review and hopefully some poor-to-mediocre sound clips!

I actually had to go rescue her from the FedEx depot due to weather here... on the way to go see B.B. King none-the-less. Almost didn't have her for the weekend... but that wasn't an option. Thank God my wife is a patient and understanding woman.

I love this bass.... and really appreciate EBMM, the people behind the innovation and craft, and this supportive (even if it is of GAS) community. I really got back in to playing in part because of you all, and the 25th itself.... and I have NEVER had this much excitement and enthusiasm about any instrument I've played in the past... or about playing music as a whole. This is the stuff inspiration is made of!

I can only echo those exact feelings. The 25th Anniversary bass it's a work of art which is difficult to surpass. We all know the bongo is the Rambo of basses but this 25th, my friends, it's Jackie Chan, Claude Van Damme and Steve Segal all rolled into one more than the average can of woop ass! :D

My compliments go to those who like me were lucky enough to secure one or more of these basses (and guitars) before the "25th" window was closed and I can only hope that for those who missed that opportunity that the 2010 Reflex models will be just as good otherwise they have lost out on something really rare and wonderful.
