Reading the BP review of the SR5 H/S today I was reminded that the SR5 has ceramic pups and I have always been drawn to teh sound of that bass over the Stingray (which I love too) and it got me wondering if the Sterling has the same ceramic pups?

Have you heard Jamiroquai's latest cd Dynamite? Paul Turner (current bassist) is playing nothing but a Stingray 5 totally clean with them and it sounds so darn sweeeeet.

I picked up a copy of that CD. I'm in love with the songs Talullah and Seven Days In Sunny June.

Have you checked out Ben Harper's newest CD Both Sides of the Gun?

Paul quote:"My gig pedals include a 70s Mutron, 70s Bass Balls, EH Micro Synth, Boss Octave, Bass Flanger, MXR Driver and Auto Q."

"My amp set up is an Aguilar DB750 and 4x12 cab."

What is this Jamiroquai that everyone is typing of? Anybody got a sound sample they can share. Preferably MP3.

Wow...it would be hard to get a taste with one sample. Every cd has his sound evolving. Jamiroquai is really the singer's creation and he has had a revolving door of fantastic musicians. Stuart Zender is the most popular bassist but he left years ago. Early stuff is more soulful/R&B and the newer stuff is more discoish/dance but still funky. Virtual Insanity was a big hit and a popular video here in the States. Here's a link to view: (right click to save)

lol I love this part: Recently Jay Kay has expressed bitter resentment with his longtime record label Sony Music. In a recent interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, he commented that"These days it's 18% music and it's bloody 82% marketing bullsh*t ... Next time I do an album, I'm gonna put it up on the internet for five f**king dollars." He also remarked that a Jamiroquai "greatest hits" album will be released in 2006, purely out of contractual obligation: "2006, they're out of the f**king picture. Take your greatest hits and stick it up your f**king arse."

Brilliant.:D
