In the case if it's not in my hand. It's double protection against dust and the 4-year-old. It's also the reason that it still looks brand new two years later. I know "relics" are all the rage now, but you can have them. I like mine in pristine condition and the case keeps them that way.

I keep mine in the cases unless I'm in the middle of a recording project, in which case I'll leave a guitar or bass on a stand for a few days. Then it's right back in the case.

I use to have the guitars displayed beautifully on the wall. They looked great!. Then one day I just decided that it would really break my heart if anything happened. So I gave the stands to Pete and hard-cased those bad boys. The stand upright locked in the closet.

Safety and security is job one here at casa de NorM

Thank you for letting me use "hard-cased" as a verb.

Always in case.
It takes less space in my music room and I rehearse twice a week with my band, thus I need the case for the transport.

Ripper great idea

I have a JP 6 , I keep it in the case, but I 've noticed that when I get it out of the case and tune it the notes on each strings are a little sharp.
I assume that is because the case is pressing a little on the tremolo arm , although they have that special cavity inside for the tremolo arm.
has anyone noticed that?

Okay, let me think, how much does it cost me to do that cabinet? You guys would be surprise - bout $800, yes, in USD I mean. But think of the convenience, space-saving I get. And fabricating a cabinet to shelve all your balls is easy - no angled back headstocks -> minimum shelf depth!:D

Mine are hanging on the wall and look great. Never had a problem with tuning stability or dust buildup! I feel that if they were in their cases they'd never get played and I love seeing them all daily! :)

If the guitar is out, I play more because I want it when I see it, easy to take but I prefer keeping it in its case or gigbag so that it stays fresher and cleaner but sometimes it is hard to take it from its case, maybe I am too lazy sometimes...

Believe me, I'm going to take some measurements in my music room.. it's nice to have a father-in-law who is a master carpenter!

I have a 4 year old and 2 year that are pretty destructive :D I let them "play" an old acoustic in an effort to expose them to music. That's all well and good, but whenever they see my MM's out they try to go after them with the same reckless abandon

So, when I'm not playing my MM's, they go into their cases. I'd love to hang them on a wall. The problem is that my kids wouldn't see guitars on a wall, they'd see a gungle-gym ;)

I leave my purple axis cased because my room gets a TON of sunlight and that would fade it very quickly as it is an older Axis. Otherwise I'd leave it out 24/7.
