I like to know, if some of you fix your picks on your guitar, and if you do - how do you fix them.

I like to know if some of you have unusual solutions (beyond double-sided adhesive tape and the common known dunlop etc. things)?

At the moment I try a small metal clip, but don´t really like it, because it´s ugly and holds only one pic. I´d like to have something which can hold 2-3 picks. So I´d like to know what you use. Thanks

I use my right front pocket. I guess I have no imagination........ Maybe I'll shake things up and put a pick in the left pocket. Naaaa.

i have a clip that fixes to the strap. i've never liked fixing pick holders to my guitars.
the clip is clear plastic - i think made by dunlop.. it's a strip about 4 inches long and can hold about 4 or 5 picks. Similar in concept to those mic stand pick holders.

it's fantastic.

If you're okay with a little velcro, this works great for me. I got this idea from Steve Vai and the forum there btw.
Ok, so you know those plastic paper binding things? You can get them at Staples for real cheap. Those actually hold picks very nicely and I just attack some velcro to a convient part of the guitar and another to the binding thing and there. I can take it off whenever, and have like five picks in a neat, cheap, and affective holder. Try looking up pictures of Vai's headstocks, then you'll know what they look like.

I use the Planet waves nylon guitar straps. THey have a small pocket sewn on to the upper horn side of the strap that can hold at least 3 pics. I've fit more in there.

Yeah, I've also tried most of those mentioned.

I always have one extra pick interwoven in the low E and D strings (above the locking nut on the headstock strings). Then, I have a few in my front pocket too.

Story: I was particularly watching closely an excellent guitar player (who was also the lead vocalist) at the very moment he happened to drop his pick. And, in one smooth unnoticeable motion he retrieved a pick from his pocket and kept playin and singing. If I hadn't been closely watching him I wouldn't even have noticed what he just did - it was pretty cool!

As I'm a singer as well in my band I use a mic stand pic holder. Not that I need as much picks as a rockstar but from time to time, when my hands get sweatty, I lose the pick while playing. Then it's nice to have a second pick just a small grab away - especially while singing. And I hate attaching anything to my guitars!!!

cool idea, I think, Steve Morse is using something like that too (on the top of his guitar).

I have one of those pick holders from Dunlop that are originally intended to be attached to a mike stand. This one ist attached to my amp head though...

On the guitar - well, two ways:

- double sided tape at the headstock or behind the bridge of the guitar (or any other place where it doesn't affect your playing...

- a strap of duct tape on your guitar strap, where you can stick the tips of your picks under the tape...

When I was playin' strats'n'teles I used to just wedge the picks in between the 'guard and the body.

Now that I'm playin' Super Sports, I use double-sided tape and keep the picks either on the side of my amp, guitar stand or the nearest mic stand. And, if I drop the pick (as I've been known to do)? Well then it's just a mish-mash of finger pickin' and stuff until the song is done :):cool:

cheers always, eh

I tend to staple mine to my forehead. I find that they're conveniently located there, although it can be a bit painful.

I just gaffer mine to the top of the amp. The only time I put picks on guitars, is when I play on rooftops playing the national anthem. My normal method is a strip of gaffer on the side of the guitar by the output jack.

I use pickboy pick holders... stuck behind my headstock. Can store up to 3 to 4 picks, depending on thickness. All my guitars have them.

I use wedgies. stocks 2 picks. Use dunlop Jazz III Ultex picks so you can't really see the picks. If you're using those Dunlop pink tortex picks well....you have something very ugly covering the headstock of something very nice...(unless you're playing a Gi***n)
