I have always wanted a blue bass, but somehow it has always eluded me.

My first bass was an old Gibson G3. It was red, but when I got it the color was faded and it almost looked pink. I hated it...dreamed of getting it refinished in Electric Blue...traded it for a black Grabber.

Next on the wish list was a Lake Placid Blue Jazz...ended up buying a Cirrus.

Last year I was dead set on ordering a PBB Sterling5...Pete had a beautiful 20th SR5 that I couldn't pass up.

I was ignorant to the way of the Bongo until this year...missed out on the 07LE.

I'm planning on getting an "Axis" bass next year and really want Ice Blue...but Sterling Silver is starting to look really good too.

Maybe I don't really want a blue bass. It's always my first choice...just never seems to be my final choice.

great story, and it's funny the way things work out. for me, i've always wanted an EBMM bass, but it's never worked out. played many. borrowed many. there's one at my house right now. but it doesn't belong to me. as we speak, i'm trying desperately to not order a new Anniversary bass. like you, i'm holding out for a sterling silver one. i hope it happens. it's a long way away...

I always wanted a black/maple StingRay. I ended up having a dozen vividly coloured ones with rosewood boards and matching headstock...

Oli, for some reason that cracked me up something terrible:D

Good!

Oh, and it's not even entirely true!!!

The real truth is much more convoluted: Before ever having owned a EBMM, I wanted a black StingRay.

But the neck was too wide for my early nineties' hands. So I ended up owning a honeyburst Sterling (which I had bought at the Hollywood GC about 15 years ago, but traded later on). I really wanted a black one with rosewood board, but that honeyburst (SNR 46157) with maple was the best sounding of all Sterlings I could find in SF & LA back then. So it became my favorite bass. And one of two which I deeply regret to having sold or traded. (Side story: The other one was my white Squire P-Bass... which a initiated my love for white basses, which is the other StingRay I always wanted, and finnally ended up with last September! :D)

So ever since passing that honeyburst Sterling on, I wanted to get a honeyburst StingRay. Which actually should have been a black one. Which is my white whale. Clear?

I at one time had a Sterling in white pearl with a pearl guard that was the most beutiful bass I had ever seen. A friend borrowed it and put a big chip in it and alas the magic was broken. I have since been on the prowl for another juust like it. I have owned 6 different EBs and still looking for my holy grail of basses. There has got to be one out there. Does anyone know if they made the Stingray in that color?

I've always wanted a Medallion Gold 5 string, but the timing was never right and with MG getting the axe late last year, I figured it might never happen.

Well that all changed today. I have a Medallion Gold Sterling 5 on the way to me. :)
