It sounds good. I like it. I almost didn't buy the guitar because I couldn't find anything about it online. I find the little charts quite useful with B/M/T and overall output ratings, as well as comparisons to existing pickups.

That's a tough one, really. There's no real standard for pickup ratings. Output and EQ are subjective. And resistance isn't a useful parameter.

My two cents: I've A-B'd the Cutlass humbucker with a buddy's Les Paul, and it sounds very close to the Gibson Classic 57+ he has. Gibson describe that as "slightly overwound PAF sound" and I think that's the best way to think of this pickup. For B/M/T no manufacturer has consistent systems to each other and DiMarzio have moved to a Bass - Low Mid - High Mid - Treble thing just to make things even less comparable!

That is by far the most information I've seen anywhere about it. Thanks!

Did a very quick comparison between bridge humbuckers. Very short clip of 5 guitars through 2 amp models: Plexi cranked and Bandmaster. No leveling so you can hear relative pickup output as well.
Cutlass with MM Ceramic
Anderson Mongrel with H3
Suhr Modern with SSH+
PRS Hollowbody2 with 58/15LT TCI
Luxxtone Choppa-T with Suhr Thornbucker Plus (downtuned 1/2 step)

Enjoy!

Very cool! Thanks!

I notice on the Suhr website that that Pete Thorn uses exactly the same language that Gibson used, "slightly overwound PAF". Really seems right for the Cutlass too. From this comparison of your clean tones, the extra extra upper mid content and less treble is really obvious compared to the PRS 58/15.

Next time anyone asks (and they will) I will say "slightly overwound PAF-style with an upper mid kick".
