Ill be doing backflips in the pool while grilling a fine rack of ribs and enjoying my brown xmas

Hehe....Ok BP, you win. I am envious. :D I've seen your pool and grill too (the Dweezil and Lisa show), and they're really nice. Have a great holiday! :)

Of course, it really stinks here now anyway. It's wet, high 40s, and brown - so I'm not even getting my white christmas. :(

Yah Pete I was just outside and it was 55 and beautiful.

BP, you gotta be from here to understand. The season in New England are awesome and I can make it to the mountains or the ocean with and hour to an hour and a half. I use to ski, so the location is ideal.

My daughters (5 and 8 years old) are bummed that we haven't had snow as of yet. They are waiting patiently. Plus it really feels like Christmas when there's snow on the ground and on the trees.

I know ya'll will think I'm crazy, but I love snow, cold weather, autumn, rainy nights, mountains, etc.

I love New England, I was born and raised on the North Shore of Boston and moved to New Hampshire for 10 years as an adult - I miss it a great deal.

I can't get into the Christmas spirit without icicles and snow, without a roaring fire to retreat to after a hard day playing on a snowmobile.

I like where I live, and it's home now, but I hate palm trees and sticky summers with lots of bugs.

I miss NH.

My wife loves it here and I could never get her out of it. I have gotten her to agree to be a snowbird of sorts when we get older - live in the north until New Years and move back to FL until June. That way I can have the culture of New England and Fall trees and mountains, but she doesn't have to freeze for too long.

Compromise.

Oh yeah . . . it's 73 and partly cloudy here, with low in the low 60's at night. I live 50 miles north of Tampa Bay, FL.

Edensdad, It's an unseasonable stretch we are in lately. It's 57 and sunny today, we haven't had any snow yet, but this has happened before.

I live and grew up 45 minutes outside of Boston. I know what you mean man 100%. My parents do that, they come back at Christmas time, but the stay down there in Boyton Beach from September/October time frame and come back May/June'ish.

Do you need to me to ship you some snowballs once we get a big storm?

We had a snowball fight last night (In Florida? ) at the Christmas tree place. The trees had come from Canada packed so tight on the truck that the snow stayed frozen in the middle. The tree farm guys saved the snow and gave it out to all of us so we could play with it.

Guys sometimes you are too easy to wind up....Im sure that there are great things about a white xmas...I just have never experienced it. I hope to soon

The handful of times that we've had a 'green Christmas' here in Pittsburgh during my lifetime (meaning no snow on the ground.. the temps aren't necessarily high), it's been a disappointment.

I guess when you grow up in a snow belt and associate snow with the holidays, it just gets ingrained into your being.

Likewise, I suppose that if you're used to warm weather and swimming at that time of year, it becomes your norm (NorM?).

Either way, it's the most wonderful time of the year.. hey, there's a song in there somewhere.

I don't think we're wound up BP....we're just havin' fun too. :) As far as experiencing one soon, I hope you can. Even up here in northern Vermont, we don't have that many anymore. Geez...I remember having more white Christmases when I lived in Jersey. Ah yes...the Christmases where the whole street would get together and snow blow our driveways and the street because the snow plows hadn't come through. My two blowers are gassed up and ready to go as we speak, but I only used them twice last year!
