I'm a professional trumpet player and band director in my day job.

Does plastic Wii drums count? :D

Kidding aside, I am a professional violinist specialising in baroque music, so I play with gut strings, curved bows, etc etc. I find it much more exciting than your average classical ensemble and in a way closer to rock music. I also play viola.

Sorry for the add-like nature of the video but this is the only recent footage I have of me playing:

Guitar is just a temporarily neglected hobby for me, along with bass. But I'm working on getting back to it!

Period trumpets are quite a challenge to play. The late baroque stuff is ridiculous on modern horns!!

I started on Drums at around 5 Years old, after crashing my Mom's dishes with my Dad's Drumsticks :D
Around 8 I got Pianolessons for 10 Years, started Acoustic Guitar when I was 11, went to Electric at 16, and also started playin Bass at 16. Last week I got myself a Violin, just for fun :)

As an aside, I already play the recorder very well. Imagine my surprise when a friend gave me a saxophone and on blowing it correctly was surprised to find that recorder fingering is similar to sax fingering. Actually I become frightened by this discovery as I knew that my very little free time should be spent practicing my first love - guitar.

I will however go back to the sax when I retire - if I can still blow !!!
