Lefty, you can smoke anything. I'm in hog heaven with my new smoker and I'm sure JP is probably digging his. The whole "set & forget" digital controller makes it incredibly easy to get great results.

I'm looking forward to the DT/Maiden show, it's going to be great!

I need one for my new casa.

That show is gonna be super-sweet.

I Will Represent At The Show

And what great exposure for EBMM during the whole Maiden tour. People who have never heard of DT will get to know the JP and Bongo. And it's great marketing for EBMM with him bringing out all the different JP's, including the mystic dream, on the road. "daddy, I want that color shifting guitar!"

I'm going to be promoting and representing EBMM at the MSG show with my official " That Top Sucks! " T-shirt. I hope that you, Pete, Nick and Jonah weren't planning to wear the same shirt:confused: That would be a bit embarrassing...

We still have to plan out the meet-up at Chipotle (BTW, I can only afford to buy Scott dinner, sorry guys:eek:). Under two months to go baby!!!

I'm jealous of you guys. I missed out on the Maiden/DT shows in Detroit/Chicago due to work scheduling.

I still get to see Dream Theater, though! So all is not lost. I got tickets for one of their one-off shows in Columbus.

I promise not to wear my "That Top Sucks" t-shirt to the show. That would be soooooooo "trekkie" of us. Imagine if we were sitting together and wearing them?

...you don't have to buy me dinner. I can afford $2.99. :p

No need to worry about the shirts, I have over 50 Maiden and Dickinson tour shirts to choose from. :D

This thread is way too scarring... I wonder if I'll ever recover.

On the OT note...

I think we tend to get too hung up on what happened last tour. It seems like every time it's the same thing... "Oh, he'll use the MKIV because he's sold on it now..." Or, "no way he'll ever go back to the MKs because the Roadking has a MKish power structure in it too.."

He changes with the weather. If he still has the basswood JPs in his possession, I fully expect that one will be on an album again before too awful long. The only thing that surprises me is that he didn't use one on BC&SL because of how heavy it was. The basswood JPs have much more bass response and some of those songs might've sounded killer with it.

We got so used to JP using the same thing for so many years before he moved to Music Man. The thing is, he didn't have the freedom he has now. Ibanez gave him the customs, then he got famous and they gave him A signature. He could try things and they sent him one offs, but the amount of R&D Sterling and Co will do for him allows him to try all those crazy ideas that have started popping into his head as one new guitar has sparked another new idea. He didn't REALLY have that ability in the past.

So, the question to me is... does JP still own all three versions? Because, if he does, it's likely he'll use all three versions at some point.
