Ok, now I gotta ask the difference between the red and blue ebows and go buy one....hate it when I do that to myself.

The red light (black casing) is the older model with only on/off. The blue LED (gray casing) is the newer one that has two different settings, one of which will only excite the harmonics.

I'll record some samples tonight with my fretless Bongo and the two eBows. I just saw at FedEx that my new TrueVoice preamp showed up, so I'm itching to get home and do some recording.

The harmonic mode on the newer ones ("E-Bow +") just kicks major butt...instant Hendrix feedback at any volume (and dummies like me can actually control it!) ...think "3rd Stone from the Sun" (the song, not the TV show) or "Are U Experienced?"...

I'm gonna get one to use with my Vox...with the built-in distortion...and G tuner...neener..

I don't think you'll regret it, Steve...for the money, they are a truly unique and versatile effect (..or tool, or whatever you want to call 'em)

Have fun!

Yeah, good luck fitting them into most band contexts*, but they sure are a lot of fun when you are all squinty eyed at 3am. It might keep you off of TB, too, so bonus. :D

*Although I have done plenty of fun solo stuff with them.
