Mine does except in really bright light, and even then, it doesn't look like the others. Are all the pics I see just under intense light?

It does look pretty dark but all trans finishes can varry slightly due to differences in the colour of the wood.
Some of the neptunes are verry bright with nicely figured body wood. Others are more plain and slightly darker. Same goes for the figured necks, some are exceptional and some are pretty plain.
On a sr4 the pickguard does hide much of the brighter centre and you see only the darker edge.
Of course promotional pictures are made to show the best of a guitar and lighting on those pictures is perfect.....i'm sure yours looks much nicer with some sunshine on it :)

Here are some pictures of my neptune. As you see i got lucky with the neck. The body is a single piece! But no amazing figuring on there. Check out the difference between font and back too....

Yeah that looks better than mine, but mine does have some figuring in the neck. I love the color, just not on mine. Oh well! Hey, what's that seafoam green one back there?!

A sub usa i gave a refinish myself. I ended up taking it back to bare wood and a complete oil finish. All natural now. Also the frets came off, they where pretty bad and i wanted to try fretless. :)

Here are some pics of my neptune. Just like Sander I was lucky enough to get a one piece body (the line on the right side of the bridge is a reflection) with a nice flame on the back of the neck, and some birdseye on the fretboard.
