A friend threw a big party and our band played. We invited a bunch of other musicians to the party and told them to feel free to jam at any time. A friend who just started playing bass somewhat recently was there, and took a little nudging from me to get up there. He was a bit shy about playing in front of everyone. He saw my Big Al and said, "there's no way I can handle that thing!" and grabbed my Stringray. LOL.
I told him he really needs to give the Big Al a try one of these days. I think seeing 5 strings, 3 pickups, and all those knobs was sensory overload for him.
I'm finding I'm using it much more in my classic rock/oldies band, as it's so versatile. I have an old school metal band, and I tend to use the Ray a lot more for it, as it seems to sit so well in that mix, and is so easy to play.
