dont know witch ebmm petrucci to buy

i wanted to buy mm petrucci some months ago but i didnt for personal reasons, now i can and i already played the standard model and its awesome!
i dont know if i should buy the standard or the jpx/jp bfr that i never played before and i cant play on it anywhere
i prefer the look of the jpx and the bfr over the standard, all of them sounds great, but i dont like the 5 way blade switch on the jpx
tell me your opinion and the advantages/disadvantage

My next MM will probably be an unloaded standard Jp6 with no options.(inlays, matching headstock, etc.) I have a 7 that is spec'd out the same way and I prefer it over the Jpxi 7 and PDN Jp6 that i've played. I feel like I can bond with the older models much more than a brand new shiny guitar haha. The oiled neck and fore arm cutaway are nice additions as well, which the newer guitars have a painted neck and no cutaway. The neck's on the Jpx I believe are thinner and may end up being faster. The Jpx is also chambered, so it's going to have more attack and just have different tonal qualities than a standard Jp6.

My opinion is to save money and go with an original Jp6, but I don't think your going to be disappointed either way. Great guitars!

all preference, you can't go wrong, i love the feel and style of the JP6 standard. If I were you, I'd try a bunch out to see what you like better...go with your gut, not what someone else says they prefer.

the point is that i dont have where to play the petrucci models except the standard

i dont have a JP (yet) but have played a JP6 and a JP12, and i would choose the JP12 everytime, its just an incredible guitar, if you dont like the 5 way switch, go for a differnt option than the JPX, there are lots of JP players on here, im sure someone more experienced with fill you in,

I have a JP6 and JPX and love them both, you can't go wrong. The JPX neck is a bit smaller but honestly I'm not sure it's all that noticeable. I will tell you my JPX neck is very senstive to temperature changes, the JP6 is a lot more stable. If you order it new, you'll always be able to return it. Got the room on the card? Order both and send one back, it'll cost you the $30 S&H fee to run the test. Not bad for a two thousand dollar guitar.

If you compare the regular BFR to the JPX for example, the regular BFR will be a bit darker sounding and less "aggressive" then the JPX. I personally do not like the different horn shapes, but they are also quite good Guitars, if you prefer nice Maple tops over some cool colors, the BFR is your choice.

The entire JP line is fantastic. If you want bling, get the BFR. They don't sound way different from each other. The BFR line is a bit beefier sounding than the standards. The playability is the same except when you move to the JPX, XI, XII due to the radius changes.
