Just a quick update to show that Dougie is staying true to his custom Sterlings. He got himself two new ones last year called Bubba and Geri:

Wow, what fantastic looking basses he has - wouldn't mind taking care of some of his overflow. Yeah, the pink sparkle with green LED's wins the prize, also the UK flag SR4HH was really cool. Never heard of the band but will definitely check them out, thanks for letting us know about them!

So I figured with McFly's new album topping the British charts once again, it's time to give an update on Dougie Poynter's ever increasing fleet of custom Music Man Sterlings. And this time, his customisations are particularly wild: Dougie now has two new Sterlings, both featuring his signature LEDs, but these have also been converted to P-Style pickups. In an interview with Musicradar, he said:

"The Music Man Sterling is my absolute go-to instrument and has been for years now. I have them all; there’s the single H, the HS and the HH variants. Each song by Ink features a different bass, and one song has two different basses. There’s a Sterling in drop-D which runs through a weird analogue pedal that we found, for example.

I’ve also made my own ones where I’ve taken out the pickups and put Seymour Duncans in. They’re Precision-style pickups, but I flip them round so the upper half is closer to the bridge. I learned that from my friend Mark Hoppus from Blink-182. I have a couple of basses set up that way, and they’re useful because they push up all the mids. They sound incredible.”

What do you guys think?
