Z makes a great amp. I had an SRZ-65 LE that I regret letting go big time! The StangRay has one of the best clean tones of any amp I've ever played. The Maz-GT is a screamin' amp too.

Just FYI, there is a proto right now that is a hybrid of the Stang Ray and Maz GT which may make into production for next year. Here's a pic of it from the last Z fest:

Yeah, man. I was totally eyeing that up in the Z forums. I'm a peruser and lightweight poster over there. When I saw the potential of the Stangray GT I was very very excited. I imagine I'll be owning one of them. That with this EZG-50 will be the ultimate stage setup. I will literally melt faces off with my tone. The Silhouette Special, JP6KOA, and these two Z's will be the be-all-end-all.

Hell, I am literally ampless waiting for this Z to show up. Now... 2x10 or 4x10 cabinet? Decisions, decisions. Probably 2x10 because it's smaller and lightweight. I hate lugging **** around needlessly.
 
As blackface reverb clones go, the Z EZG-50 demo wasn't very impressive, imo. Maybe it was just the poor recording but to me it sounds thin, especially for a 6L6 powered amp.

You know, I'm going to have to agree on the thin-factor of the demo video. On thing I've learned though, is that with Z, thin is exactly what you WON'T get. I've played almost all of their amps and owned a few and they are the most robust and meaty sounding things you will ever play. The simplicity of them is also very attractive. I would say this is Z's most complicated single channel amp, having as many knobs as it does. It's going to kick ass.

The second video definitely does it more justice, but again we have to remember it;s a youtube jobby. I bought this amp on reputation and experience with other Z's. It's all I need to know.

Based on my trip to Cleveland back in June, I think you are very safe with either the 210 or 410 cabinets. As for it sounding thin? Try one live, on stage with any of the guitars you got already and either of the cabs ... heck, try with a 212 or 412. No worries about bein' a skinnie-minnie with the EZG imho . If I didn't already have a Galaxie and the Z-28 ...... heck, who am I kidding, there will prolly be another Z amp comin' to the collection sometime in the coming months. :):cool:
