So, all in all, a lousy time was had by all..... :(

This is why I get in the mood to sell all my gear and take up gardening....

Ritchie

Having read Ritchie's thread the other day (which has now disappeared) about selling all his basses after losing the enjoyment of playing music, I was wondering what the catalyst was for that, so revisiting this old thread was quite prophetic. I've done gigs like the one Ritchie described, but even though they're not always fun I can't imagine them being bad enough to want to give up playing completely.

Ritchie, we miss you around here, how about sticking around?

Tune down a half a step and the band will probably fire you after one set or take in a couple of svt cabinets and drown out everything.

Indeed, Mark. I like having Ritchie around too.

Thanks guys! I appreciate that.

I canned the other thread.

Because I figured out I needed to drill a hole in my head and let the sap out. :D

Like BP said, "cut the drama"!

I'm just going through a serious case of musical depression.

Exacerbated by my precarious work and financial situation.

And selling that last bass was particularly painful.

Sorry for the sob story! :(

Don't worry, I'll still be around. And I'll be back in the fold soon enough.

You knuckleheads won't get rid of me that easy!

All the best,

Ritchie

Good to hear Ritchie, although I wouldn't consider it drama. Many people go what you're going through at times to various degrees. Hang in there are stuff will sort itself out.

I don't gig too often, but the original gig described in this post is the type of thing I have nightmares about! I can understand having dreaded that one!

I agree Mark. I can never be so discouraged from gigging. I've aways said, my worst night onstage is still better than my best day at work.
