Dream Peavey Rig Photos

I have been remiss in taking and posting photos of the infamous Dream Peavey Rig, have I not?

I bought the cabinet to leave at a skanky biker bar in San Antonio, because we never knew what would be there on jam nights. It spent months chained to the stage! It's a 1-15 and sounds surprisingly nice.

The head is a Session Bass, picked up in some kind of trade that I now forget, but I'm sure it's low power and a POS but I still like it with certain basses.

I will of course be slammed for having non-EBMM basses, but at least there are no Parkers, Gibsons or PRS basses amongst my small herd.

Most peavey gear is surprisingly good. Nice rigs there!

question ( exscuse my ignorance ) : what type of bass is the third from the right in your gang bang (group) shot? Odd but lovely looking beast she is...

That's a Reverend Rumblefish 5L. Really great passive basses, 35" scale, thumpy as all get-out when strung with flats. Unfortunately, they aren't being made anymore.

There is a ongoing struggle with your masculinity exhibited in your lipstick fettish and necklace collection. There are also very clear signals that you want to break out and be progressive but your inner self cannot funtion with out traditional and vintage lifejackets
as sort of linus security blankets.

There's a shrink INSIDE you? You might have called for pizza delivery before resorting to these extremes. Plus, and I'm just telling you what I've heard, those shrinks are chock-full of the bad kind of cholesterol. (Tasty, though - more tender than lawyers.)

The only ongoing struggle around these parts now is the decision whether or not to put walnuts or pecan in my much-lauded banana nut bread. Baking has become an important part of my daily routine, especially since I retired. I love coming into the house, my apron flapping in the breeze and my hair all pinned up, and being greeted by the smell of something delicious in the oven. Add a little background music (Judy Garland or Bette Midler would be ideal!) and a comfy chair with a romance novel and you have the perfect morning.

Boss, I feel progressive when I listen to McCartney solo albums instead of the Beatles stuff. That's how progressive I am.

Couldn't I just have Ketel Two one time a day?

Unless the Sunn bass head qualifies as heavy equipment, I think we're okay!

Peavey Bass rigs rock. I had mainly Peavey bass amplification for quite sometime and I would just laugh at people who would look down their noses at Peavey amps. They were obviously more impressed with name brands than tone and performance.

Someday I'll get around to hooking that little head up to some other cabs and see what it does.

It may just

a. sound great!
b. sound crappy!
c. catch fire and burn the house down.

Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of Peavey?

That little Sessions Bass head is a great little rig w/ a 4 ohm cab which I am thinking your 115 is if you are gigging with it. I had one that came in a kick back Peavey 112 8 ohm cab and it was a bit shy on power but that is why they call it the Sessions Bass head, not the Wold Tour ect. But the sound was great.

Yup, that little 1-15 is a 4 ohm so it makes a purdy good noise.

I don't know how I missed this thread, but I did. I gotta say I am still going to get a big Peavey head and see what it does for the SR5.

That and it is just fun to read a little BP & Jack once in awhile.
