If money was no problem what would be your dream rig? Enquiring minds would like to know! :D

Well, I'm kind of contemplating a scaled-down version of a "Dream Rig," because money is an object. So, I've actually been thinking about this to a certain degree.

I don't want to answer with "Dream Rig" with no limits, because that could go on forever. I wouldn't even have a clue how to put it all together and make it easy to use. I'd have multiple amps from Egnater, Mesa, and Two-Rock just because I could. I have no idea how the switching would even work.

A more realistic version will probably look a little more like this, and I might be able to pull it off given some time and some judicious EBay searching.
Egnater Mod 50 Head loaded with EG5 and T/D modules
Egnater 1 x 12 or 2 x 12
TC Electronics G-Major (This I already bought on clearance NOS at GC.)
Ground Control Pro MIDI Foot Controller
GCX Audio Switcher
An assortment of pedals including my Blues Driver (hopefully modified by Keeley); a Tube Screamer as above; an Octave fuzz and some kind of univibe.
Some kind of acoustic amp. No idea what. Maybe Markacoustic or Schertler. Who knows? Of course, the appropriate stuff to make it work would be necessary: stereo cable; splitter box or pan pedal; DI with ground lift.
Power conditioner.

Wow:eek: that's some rig! Never heard of Egnater amps, what would you say they compare to in terms of clean/crunch tones?

Well, the whole point behind Egnater's modular series of amps is that they can sound almost like any better-known amp that you want them to sound like. I think they have a sound that's kind of similar to those things, but I think that there's something about them that's just clearly Egnater. Depending on the modules that you use, you can change the sound to suit your changing tastes or needs.

The set-up that I mentioned above would sound kind of like a Fender Twin or Deluxe Reverb for clean. For dirt, we're talking something along the lines of Mesa meets Soldano (according to their promotional info). It's a tighter sound than most of the Mesas I've tried. Never tried a Soldano.

Check out the modules here: Egnater Amplification ? Modules
Check out the amps and cabs here: Egnater Amplification ? Amps/Cabs
Sometimes, I wonder if I would be more interested in an M4 Preamp, but I don't know if I need all that.

My dream rig would be a BFR DD2 JP7, a BFR Luke and a BFR AL. Amps would be a Diamond Nitrox for my dirty nasty gain!!!! Probably a Divided by 13 for the cleans and slightly overdriven sound. I play everything from metal to blues so it would work for me! Pedals, well.... so many to choose. Tortuga Phaser, Redwitch Empress chorus, Fulltone Clyde Deluxe wah and vibe. Zvex probe wah just to play with.

Thats about it I think!!

I'll take JP's Train of Thought rig, a Mark IV and an Axe FX Ultra.

Better make that 2. And I'll "buy" Mark Snyder to keep it all going :p

Just added another piece. Got a Fulltone Mini Deja-Vibe 2 today. Plan to have Keeley modify my Blues Driver sometime soon.

Realistically, I'd want the following for a rig:

*EBMM JP6 Mystic Dream loaded (Already own) - Main guitar
*EBMM JP6 White Pearl loaded - Backup guitar
*EBMM JP7 Stealth Black - Seven string
*EBMM Axis Honeyburst - For a locking trem/something different
*Composite Traveller acoustic - For an acoustic
*Mesa Boogie Mark Five - Main amp
*Mesa Boogie ElectraDyne - For a different sound
*Basson 4x12 cab x2 - for each amp
*TC Electronic G System - for all effects except for a wah, noise gate and overdrive, which would be covered by a Budda Budwah, an ISP Prorack G, and my custom WAR overdrive.

I have the BD-2 PHAT mod, and it works great. It's absolutely stunning with single coils.

Unfortunately gonna replace mine with a Fuzz instead.

As far as dream rigs go.

I could literally go on for days with this one.

Wet/Dry set up with a Fuchs ODS and Two Rock CRS.

and

Eric Johnson's complete rig.

I've pretty much got all of the gear I want, except for an EBMM wah pedal.

I could choose a few more guitars though...

Dream rig, that is tough! I have my dream amp with my Mark V already, but wouldn't mind having an Electra Dyne right next to it! Maybe a new pair of JP BFR's, a Walnut Burst Baritone and a Cherryburst F1. For FX, maybe just a simple G Major with a nice midi-controller. Of course, this is just a dream!:D

I'm really hoping I get rich when I'm older to make this a reality:

4 Mesa Boogie stacks- 2 Roadking stacks in the middle always dry, one Mark V stack on each side, always wet, at least just a little bit of delay at all times.

Then I'd have a rack with a ****load of pedals for easy tweakability. I'd have 3 or 4 TC Electronic Delay pedals, a TC Electronic Chorus, my MXR EVH pedals, maybe an Xotic FX BB Preamp and 1 or 2 more boost/OD pedals, EHX POG 2, Keeley Compressor, and whatever else I feel like putting in because I can :) Then a Mesa amp switcher, a few Voodoo Lab GCX switchers, an ISP Noise Gate, Dunlop Rack Wah, Korg rack tuner, Furman Power Conditioner is a must, and whatever else I feel like putting in. I'd have it all controlled by an Axess-Electronics MIDI board with the expander, the wah controller, and then a mono volume pedal for the magnetic signal. I'd want to run a stereo cable out of the guitar and into an EB Splitter Box, then the piezo straight into the PA.

For guitars, I'd have all JP BFRs in every color for all different tunings, plus a 7 string and maybe a couple baritones.

I guess I'll just have to study hard and get an awesome job that pays the big bucks...

Dream rig? Money no issue?

Probably would mean one of every Dr Z amp along with several Super Sports in various configurations .... and while the collection has grown ... there's still a few pieces for me to add :D ;)

cheers always, eh
