Wow!!!!!
What a night ladies! DT come out and kicked ass from start to finish!
Opening with "Nightmare to remember" , played stuff from nearly all the albums.
Petrucci played his Stealth the most. there was also Pearl redburst ( i think), Black burst, and a Bahama blue.
Myung played 3 Bongo 6's. Sterling silver HS, Black HH and one more( cant think of it right now).
It was an amazing show! The boys gave it their 150%. They're just a bunch of freaks. Masters on their instruments.
Here's a few photos, (not many close-ups of JP as we were on Myung's side of the stage).
Excuse the quality, i took em with my iphone

Wow!!!!!

..... Masters on their instruments.

Great pics.

I saw them in October, earlier in the year, in Glasgow. They just keep getting better and better live. The new BC&SL material is jaw dropping live.

Highlight for you fella?

Be honest; you bought Bebot for yer iPhone yet?!!!! :)

Definately "Lie" of "Awake" album.
That was the album that got me into DT back in '98, and i was over the moon when they played this song.

Haha, yeh man!
I actually got it a few months ago after seeing Jordan play it in a vid on youtube

Deano get ready for some wet pants mate, cause if i remember correctly they played "The Mirror" right before "Lie"

yup correct :) an absolutely amazing concert! and JP's tone is crushing on the new songs, hearing those opening chords of a nightmare to remember got me revved up for the whole night! the beginning of the count of tuscany though JP seemed a little rusty.. but i guess thats to be expected coming to the end of their busy tour. Oh and i have converted 2 of my mates to the ways of DT! They love them now, and cant stop listening to them.. haha paying for their tickets was well worth it. :)
And good ol MP coming to the rescue when the sound completely died before JR was about to go into something.. Im just glad it didnt happen mid way during a song..
And the support band (pain of salvation) were.. well pretty average, i didnt think very much of them, and then they played some disco queen song and after that i really couldnt take them seriously.. shame too because the song they opened with was quite good.

Awesome, I saw them back in July, JP's tone was awesome! So what kind of different BFRs did he play? I'm sure he's gotten some new ones since I saw them haha.

Do yourself a favour and pick up The Perfect Element Pt.1 by Pain of Salvation. They're my second favourite band for a reason. That album is a masterpiece. That Disco Queen song is from Scarsick, by far and away their worst album, IMO. So disappointing.

I thought 'Pain of Salvation' were pretty good, but yeh that Disco Queen was a bit of a letdown.
And yes! It was awesome when Portnoy quickly jumped on the drums and did a solo, cause the sound went down when Jordan was doing a solo. Quick thinkin.

My mate that went with me( also a great bass player) is verrrrryyy hot on a six string Bongo now. His six string 7banez is going on evilbay today. He's chasing a Sterling silver HH, pity there's none for sale here

ill take your word for it :)
another thing that probably didnt help wit my opinion of pain of salvation was the sound mix was shocking! from where we were sitting you could not hear the guitars unless it was only them playing, and the vocals weren't loud enough. all we could hear were drums and bass...

Man, thats the venue. Convention center is known for that. Killer bass!
I was right up the front, and every time there was double kick, it would drown out the rest of the band! Thats the only thing i didnt like about the whole gig.
Maybe adequate position would be the seats right at the back,,,but who wants those, (well maybe if your girlfriend drags you to Black Eyed Peas, and your glad NOT to see em up close as you may vomit violently)

I dont know man, ive seen plenty of bands in there and the mix has been spot on, could hear everything clearly. but in saying that, those concerts have not been as loud as DT or PoS. Man my ears were ringing for hours afterwards!
And yeah i agree with the seating thing, i made sure i had tickets up the front, but i wasnt going to stand this year, did that last year and my legs were killing me, to top it off i had to walk 5kms to get to my car.. haha
