Brett, I'm going, too!

How's the parking at the Congress?

I haven't seen DT in the flesh yet and can't wait!

Have a great time!

Has anyone heard what DT is doing on this tour? Any "album sides" or other surprises?

Zenba,
I don't know how the parking is there I never been. The times I have seen em they played The House Of Blues and The Vic Theater. If you haevn't seen them in the flesh yet you are in for a treat it's the best. As far as what they are doing this tour is irrelevant they change their set list on a nightly basis so if you seen em three times in one week chances are you will have heard three different set lists. I did notice on some online pics that Petrucci had his Mesa cabs painted with some album art work that looked pretty cool.

Hi Brett,

I knew they changed their set list - I just thought someone would know if they were throwing some unusual songs into the mix. I really look forward to the show!

Have a great time and I'll look for Petrucci's painted cabs!

Well I just got back from the Dream Theater show at the Congress Theater in Chicago. It was awesome!!! The did a song from when they were known as Majesty. I never heard it before. They also did some rare stuff that never made it on an album Raise The Knife. Charlie from Anthrax was there too and got up and did a drum solo with Mike Portnoy.I don't want to spoil the show for anyone who is going so I won't say no more other than you are in for a treat!

Brett, any new guitars being used by JP?
Nope! He did have that awesome Stratus Blue Sparkle doubleneck on the song Octavarium that he used on the Live At Budakahn DVD though. Man that's an awesome color my favorite of all the sparkles! It looked like a Blue Diamond up on stage!

The show was great! The sound in the Congress isn't the best, but I still loved the show. The drum solo with Portnoy and Charlie Benante was incredible - especially with Petrucci's accompaniment toward the end.

I liked the song sequencing - this was a particularly heavy sounding show except when Petrucci used his double-neck.

My favorite was the Test That Stumped Them All...the house was RAWKIN!

...glad you liked the show, too.
