I just got out of the Dream Theater Progressive Tour concert in Asheville................

Man, what a blast! All the bands were great (Zappa Plays Zappa, Bigelf and Scale the Summit) but Dream Theater was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My wife and I were in the first row. JP threw a pick her way and she caught it! She was psyched. I got a high 5 from Myung. One of the best if not the best concert I have been to. JP's guitars were incredible and Myung's Silver Bongo was cool. One of the guitarists for Scale the Summit was playing a JP 7 BFR. My wife got some pics, when I get them off my phone I'll post them. I hope they look ok.

I had a very similar experience last year, I got front row in front of JP and caught his pick and got a high 5 from Myung. haha

I'm seeing them Friday and I can't wait!

That takes me back to the meet and greet in Toronto. The guys were super cool, Mike knew New Brunswick (where I'm from) because it's where they make Sabian cymbals and John Petrucci was willing to shake my hand even though the organizer made a big deal about not shaking hands with band members. :) THAT made my summer.

Also, the show kicked major ass. My wife and I were in the front row and almost right in front of Petrucci. They played Blind Faith and I lost it; I've never heard it live and it's one of my fav songs.

Sounds good! I have the Dubaldo's Meet and greet next Wednesday and then the show Friday where I will meet and greet them again. Looking forward to it.

What did the set list look like besides Blind Faith? Old, new?

Hey, I was at the show last night too!!! Man, was it awesome. It was my first DT show. It's been a long time coming. It was everything I could have imagined. His tone is absolutely SICK live. I'm still thinking about it today. I can't wait to see them again!! I was not as close as I would have liked to have been, but next time i'll buy tickets the morning of the sale and not the following night...

His painted cabs look killer don't they?!!

I was at the Asheville show as well! Freaking awesome! I loved the new Dargie he played during Constant Motion but when he brought out the cherry sunburst looking BFR for Count Of Tuscany I just about passed out! That's the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen!!!

I just saw them last Saturday in Orlando and of course they were great. Myung and Petrucci are like cyborgs with their Music Man attachments- so perfect in everything they play. Of course the rest of the band was really good too. They are changing up the setlist every night so there will be surprises among the two or three staples off of the new cd that are played every show. Two of the songs that surprised me on Saturday were Dance of Eternity and Take the Time, well done and excellent.
