OK befroe this gets shut down. Greg Timmons wasnt there for any of it. He worked for us but was not involved. I would be really suprised if he said that. Number 2 We had dtunas first with evh in mind and dudley perfected it. Eddie has claimed to have designed it in the original press releases after he bought Roberts patents..

Your other strings will not go out of tune if your trem is blocked (not floating).

It is such a simple design I'm shocked that a 7th grade Industrial Arts class hadn't invented it years earlier. I don't really care who invented it. It works. No problem with me if EVH just helped develop it or if he was just the first to use it. Whatever.

When it comes to the promotion of guitar products there are all kinds of remarks made that are half truths. I'm not saying those comments are justified but I'm not sure there is a product out there that hasn't benefited one way or another from these inacuracies. I'm more concerned about flat out lies that pertain to the performance of a product.

Who actually invented the D-Tuna? I don't really care. I hope that person was treated fairly but if it was all legal, it makes no difference to me.

Sorry, Wasn't trying to start anything. I just wanted to back up BP's story on who invented it . . . not that a non-EBMM product would truly matter in this forum.

I never take statements that start with "I know a guy who says he knows a guy who was there" at anything more than face value.

A couple more thoughts on the performance of the Tuna.

I purchased on once that was defective. But it was replaced with one that works just fine. I've found that almost all of the time, barring a defective unit, that if the Tuna doesn't work right, it was set up wrong. If it is set up as prescribed in the directions, it will work fine.

It works better on Floyds that have tighter fine tuning screws. If there some play, wobble, looseness in the fine tuning screws, the tuning will not be quite as precise. But it will still work fine. It just depends on how anal you are.
