Today I finally got around to taking the Silo to a luthier to fix the hack job that the last guy did on a nut change and set up. I was begining to lose interest in it and tried to sell it. But I'll tell you what really turned me around was this new Dr Z amp I bought. THe combination of the two is incredible! The guitar has really come to life. I was playing through a Boogie Rectoverb before and I was never totally satisfied. Turns out it was the amp, not the guitar that was the problem. No offense at all to Boogie, I've played them since about 1989 and still love them.
I have no idea why I felt compelled to post this. I suppose I'm just excited about loving the Silo again. It really is like having a new guitar.

mate i always hear incredible stuff about these Dr Z amps, seems like they are the perfect partner for a SSS guitar, all the players ive seen that use a strat and a Dr Z amp seem to get a BRILLIANT sound. SO it stands to reason your silo special would sound better, as its better than a strat!!!!!!!

on the other hand, i've never heard a SSS guitar and a Mesa sound like anything but a piece of sh*t.

The Z's really are a fantastic amp. They let the natural sound of whatever guitar you're playing shine through. Imagine that, a guitar amp that amplifies the sound of your guitar......hmmmm. It really makes me appreciate my Silo again, and I dig it.

+1!

The Z's really are fantastic amps. I've got my sights set on a Stang Ray some day! But all of his stuff is really great. Simple yet elegant and tone for days. Beautiful stuff.

Brad's a big user/endorser/etc.

The Stangray an RxES were a result of his collaboration.
I've had 3 different Z's, and they are def. fantastic amps. I moved on to something I like a little bit better, but I look back on the Z's fondly.
