I actually have a Rolling Stones DVD (Rock and Roll Circus), on which Keef plays bass for John Lennon's band, Dirty Mac (which also featured Eric Clapton). Keith Richards was a decent bass player.

The neck on my Bongo has finally adjusted to the 10% humidity of the desert...will start to tweak it in tomorrow...thing rings like a bell but the action is way to high now...will tweak and report soon.

I'm kinna digging these stock Slinky's actually..must get em back down before I can give an informed opinon though.

Let us know your opinion about the strings. But when you do, be sure to choose your words wisely. There was another thread, not too long ago where someone recommended some other strings and it damn-near formed a forum lynch mob!

I, right now, am experimenting with D'Addario Roundwounds. I put them on two days ago, and so far I am really impressed. They compliment my MusicMan really well. My main thing is life (how long does the brightness last), and durability, as I play a lot a slap bass, as well.

Although I must admit, these set of D'Addario strings I just put on my Bass on Monday has by bass sounding incredible. I received many compliments about the sound of my bass in my Jazz Ensemble today.

I think it was just a case of Keef and Mick being the songwriters, and Keef would come up with the riff and lay down the track in the studio. Presumably Keef had the bass riff in his head and the band thought it more efficient for Keef to record the track rather than waiting for Keef to sober up so he could show it to Wyman. Then again, perhaps it was a rush to get the bassline on tape before Keef forgot it?
