to build me a one-off JP6? I'm aware that EB doesn't have a custom shop or doesn't offer any custom options to the public, but hypothetically speaking... if money was no object?

I think I know what your answer will be... I've always wanted a Luke with slightly different specs... I know it will never happen...:p I'd also love a Silo Special without a pickguard.... ahhh sweet dreams...:)

If money was no object, I'm sure that Dudley would be able to accommodate you for the paltry fee of 1 million dollars.
Don't quote me on that though. He may require more zeroes.

After playing my I****Z RG model, and realizing how much the stupid single coil is in my way, I am now hankering to get back on the JP6LH train. I really like the thin neck profile of the I****z and remember the JP6 being the same style. It's got the cool tremolo system that doesn't require seventeen minutes to change one string, and the locking tuners help out a ton. Also, it's got really hot humbuckers and no single coil to get in the way of my playing! From my memory of the JP6, I recall it having a split single coil selection as the middle of the three-way switch. That's perfect! I don't need two humbuckers together, and don't need it any other way... my Silhouette Special does all my single coil work for me! I think I'd get one without piezo because I still like playing acoustic.

So, I pose the same question: what would it take to get a left handed JP6? I'm willing to sell my I****z for one, without a question. So, what will it take?

woh woh woh, Jimmy, i guess you couldn't take it anymore. You always bust my chops about a left handed JP6, which i don't even do anymore, and now you "beg" for one? for shame.

But, I would sooooooooooooo be down for that as well!!!!

Well, truth be told I just dropped a grand on an I****z and felt dirty for buying it. I would have much rather spent that grand on a Music Man, but none are 24 frets. As far as I'm concerned, a grand's nothing to spend. With MM charging upwards of 3000 dollars for a fancy BFR JP6, I'd easily pay that for a left handed regular JP6. The build quality is there as is the playability. Hell, I've been debating buying a right handed JP6 just to have a great 24 fret guitar. I've got it bad.

I did give you trouble for making mention of lefty JP6's before, but no more. We must team up and use our collective buying power to get our way! Hahahaha.

..as posted in another place in this forum a pinkburst silo with poplar body and one piece maple neck as well as a white pearloid pickguard, a matching headstock and a floyd rose or preferably the jp floating trem in hsh configuration and with the ability to split each hb individually would do great..:D

..i think we could talk about the price then..

you'll forgive me but why would you want anything else ???

Seriously, from the company point of view it'd cost a tonne to tool up every time somebody wanted a horn 8mm to the left, not worth it.

One of the many things that make the EBMM's stand out is that you can pickup 2 of 'em and they're almost identical in feel and sound, if you let everybody have a free for all then you'd loose that..

Just my 2 cents,

Now where's my Mr. Horsepower application form!:)

I was thinking more along the lines of say, finishes that aren't typically available or a different wood for the body and fretboard. What I'd love would be a JP6 with a solid mahogany body, natural oiled finish, and maple fretboard. None of which should require any additional tooling. ;)

That's kinda my thinking as well. Different wood options on non-signature instruments would be stanky nice.

Sweet! I'd like a pine-bodied, AL loaded with 8 DiMarzio Choppers wired to three 5-way superswitches and a single tone control, rosewood neck, ebony board, vintage nickel frets for the first 4 frets, jumbo stainless frets for 5-12, and fretless 13 and up. And a Kahler.

LOL
