how the hell do you use the locking tuners? I've always had floyds so I've never used them..

and I'm pretty sure that the jp models always had them, right?

hey man, it's so simple that a baby could change strings with it. When changing strings you loosen them as usual and then you loose that big screw (or whatever they call it) at the back of the tuner. You take out the string, grab a new one. Put it through the hole in the tuner and pull to the end and hold it, while holding the string just tighten the screw again and tune the guitar, locking tuners absolutely rock

do you see in the last picture that round big thing at the back of the tuner? it is that screw, it's just tightening the hole in the tuner in order to keep a string secured. Thanks to that you dont have to coil string on a tuner (sorry for my bad English I hope you understand), you just grab a string, put it through a hole, pull it and hold it (string must be tightened) while holding tighten the tuner, then tune, this couldn't be any simple

ohhh...yeah, that big circle thing..I thought there was an actual screw comming out somewhere..and the only one I saw was the one holding the tuner on! lol

my bad..

now, is this supposed to keep it from going outta tune when using the trem as well? I told ya, I'm new to non floyd rose guitars...all my axes have string locks

It's more like a big knob on the back of the tuner.

I have a strat with that system, but I can't use the trem it goes out of tune like hell. But it's not the fault of the tuners, in my strat I have those steal thingys on the headstock to push strings more to the ground (if you can say that), these little s**ts cause pressure while using the trem. But on a JP it should be fine, many people say it's better than floyds, if you would encounter tunning issue take a pencil and use it on the nut to make strings slide better in it and it should be fine

One thing you'll want to invest in, is some of that Big Bend's Nut Sauce stuff (great name eh?).

It helps a lot with tuning stability if you are a trem abuser. ;)

nut sauce? stop..you're scaring me

depends to what I have to refer :D I wasn't thinking about saddles but those thins that strats have to keep E B G D strings more close to headstock. EBMM's dont have those things cause the tuners are cut at the right height. And the nut sauce is a good invention you just dose a little bit on the nut and your Pet will stay in tune for years:D
